Chasing and Repouseé Cuff by Denny Turner

Denny Turner is a gifted metalsmith and talented practitioner of the art of chasing and repouseé.  He’s based here in San Diego, CA.

The best I can fathom, chasing and repouseé is hammering the living crap out of malleable metal and, by doing so, creating all kinds of wonderful outward and inward   shapes. (Metalsmiths everywhere just involuntarily cringed…)

Denny teaches both beginning and advanced silversmithing and jewelry design at San Diego Mineral and Gem Society (www.sdmg.org).  And he’s just finished teaching an 8-week chasing and repouseé class that Jonna attended (and loved).

A while back, Denny asked me to shoot his gorgeous cuff.  I know I’ve mentioned this before, but I do love my job!
