Metal Clay By The Bay opens this week!

Metal Clay By The Bay, a new national conference for metal clay enthusiasts, begins this Friday in San Diego, CA.  The event offers four days of workshops, taught by some of the most influential artists and teachers in the metal clay community, including Janet Alexander, Lisa Barth, Barbara Becker-Simon, Lis-el Crowley, Pam East, Thomas Flores, Holly Gage, Terry Kovalcik, Patrik Kusek and Michael Marx.   There will also be a room full of industry vendors, showing new products and supporting the event, as well as an artist’s “show and sell” night.

I’ll be there as well, with a full studio, photographing participants’ work.

If you’re in San Diego and interested in metal clay, this is a great opportunity to learn more about what’s happening with this terrific medium.  Many participation plans are available, from a $35 pass that admits visitors to vendor rooms and artists’ show and sell nights to full conference packages.

All the nitty gritty can be found at www.metalclaybythebay.com.

Metal Clay By The Bay will take place at the new Westin Gaslamp Hotel in downtown San Diego at Horton Plaza.

Hope to see you there.
