Happy Birthday, Selma!

After posting the “Sunflower Ladies” a few days ago, I heard back from Selma Foreman, who celebrates her 98th birthday today.  And, I might add, is still creating beadwork and art!!!

So happy birthday Selma!  And many, many more!  You’re an inspiration to all of us!  We send our love and best wishes.

  1. What a wonderful woman and Happy birthday!

She really is. When Selma participated in the France workshop, at 90+, she travelled on her own from Florida to Paris and then on to Toulouse. She went out on hikes with us. Practically ran us into the ground.

When I say to people, “I’m way too old for this stuff,” (which, alas, I find myself saying more and more these days) I’d do well to think of Selma, who’s younger in spirit than almost anyone I know.

Beautiful picture and story. Genuinely lovely. When I heard about Selma from you, I hoped that I would grow up to be like her — young and active and still doing the things I love — so better take care of this old body now it will last another 30+ years (scary to even write that).
    Happy Birthday Selma!!
    What an inspiration you are.

  3. Selma, you are beautiful and an inspiration to all! Happy Birthday! Judith Moore
