Firmament Necklace by Jonna Faulkner

Here’s a new shot of Jonna’s “Firmament Necklace,” one of my all-time favorite pieces.  The hollow-core beads are formed around cork clay, which burns off in the kiln.  (Making hollow forms has been one of Jonna’s most popular classes.)  Gold foil is bonded to the silver using heat and pressure, an ancient Korean “keum-boo” technique.

Shot this weekend in my Escondido studio.
